NEW BOOK!

Good morning, Brave Correspondents and others who appreciate them! I am pleased to report that hiatus has been fruitful indeed, and that my illustrated advice book SPECIAL TOPICS IN BEING A HUMAN: A Queer and Tender Guide to Things I've Learned the Hard Way about Caring for People, Including Myself comes out on October 12, 2021 (you can preorder it at the link). People have said some very nice things about it so far, like this starred review from Publishers Weekly and all these blurbs from smart and awesome humans like Alison Bechdel and Andrea Gibson and Kate Bornstein and Hanne Blank and Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg who also liked it.

I made it in collaboration with my truly brilliant illustrator Saul Freedman-Lawson, and we are also making a few more special things behind the book for cool outlets like VICE and the Jewish Book Council so stay tuned for some items here that aren’t available in stores! Also, I’m pleased to announce that the column will re-start on the book’s pub date, so pop back on the 12th for fresh new advice, ideas, and love.
